History

The company traces its history to a small hotel outside Cape Town, South Africa, in the early 1900s.[3]

The Travel Corporation's not-for-profit TreadRight Foundation was established in 2008.[4]

On 16th July 2024, The Tollman Family announced the sale of The Travel Corporation to Apollo Private Equity funds, a US-based asset management firm. The sale marks the end of the Tollman family's 104-year-long tenure of private ownership. The deal will see The Tollman Family retain the Red Carnation group of hotels, whereby Apollo will acquire the remaining 18 of TTCs Tour Brands at the close of 2024. [5]
