SGB Premiership 2024 explained

The 2024 SGB Premiership is the 89th season of the top tier of British speedway and the 7th known as the SGB Premiership.^[1] The league is sponsored by ROWE Motor Oil.

The defending champions are Sheffield Tigers and Ipswich Witches are the defending Knockout Cup champions.

Summary

The league consists of seven teams despite the loss of Peterborough Panthers^[2] and Wolverhampton Wolves.^[3] They were replaced by Birmingham Brummies, who joined from the Championship (tier 2),^[4] as did the Oxford Spires (a third and new team from the Oxford Cheetahs promotion).
