Parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held in Slovakia by 2027 to elect members of the National Council, although they can be held sooner if a snap election is called.
The last elections were snap elections held in 2023. This resulted in a coalition government between the left-wing nationalist Direction – Social Democracy (Smer), the social democratic Voice – Social Democracy (Hlas), and the ultranationalist Slovak National Party (SNS), with Smer leader Robert Fico becoming Prime Minister.[1] [2] [3]
