It's Your Lucky Day is a Philippine noontime variety show under ABS-CBN Studios. It originally aired from October 14 to 27, 2023 serving as interim replacement of It's Showtime, which was suspended from airing for 12 days by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).[2]
The show features celebrities and comedians like Luis Manzano, Melai Cantiveros, Robi Domingo, Jennica Garcia, Francine Diaz, Seth Fedelin, Kyle Echarri, Andrea Brillantes and Negi.[3] [4]
It's Your Lucky Day premiered on October 14, 2023, as an original programming by ABS-CBN Studios under the timeslot of It's Showtime, another variety show which was suspended from airing by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).[2] The MTRCB suspended It's Showtime for 12 days due to an alleged obscene act of improper etiquette involving Vice Ganda and Ion Perez in a July 25 episode Isip Bata segment. The show itself is a similar to interim show, Magpasikat.[5] [6] The same production team behind It's Showtime is responsible for making It's Your Lucky Day.[7]
ABS-CBN has already planned to create a game and variety show for Luis "Lucky" Manzano and his colleagues even before MTRCB took action against It's Showtime. This includes plans for segments and games. The suspension caused the premiere telecast It's Your Lucky Day to be forwarded to an earlier date as planned.[8]
It's Your Lucky Day would air until October 27.[9] [10]
In Pangma-LuckCASHan, the hosts will pick 10 audience members based on a particular challenge that all chosen contestants must complete (for instance, each contestant must share a joke, sing a song, or dance to the show's theme song). The contestant is qualified to take part in Pangma-LuckCASHan Pick if Luis accepts their entry. From the October 23rd episode onwards, two coins are used in place of the cards; those coins contain either a picture of "Luisa" (Luis wearing a wig), or a picture of a crying Luis at his wedding.
Those chosen in the Pangma-LuckCASHan Pick will be given ₱5,000 pesos as starting money in CASHinko. They are given the task of dropping a ball from the CASHinko board, which will either double, triple, quadruple, quintuple, or even bankrupt their money, depending on where the ball lands. If their ball lands on the "x5" corner, they will be given another opportunity to drop another ball, and the value earned on the next drop will be theirs to keep — for example, if the ball drops at the "x4" corner, then he or she is given an additional ₱20,000 for himself or herself to keep. The first drop of their ball will only be included in their total winnings as a group, which will then be divided among the five players.
The hosts of "Lucky-ing Kalye" will choose a predetermined number of competitors from the crowd to compete for a prize by completing a challenge they will present. Both the winning and losing contestants (excluding Basta't Driver, Lucky Player which only picks one winner) will receive a cash prize, with the winner receiving the majority of the cash prize.
Five participants in Lucky Pick will be selected at random. Those selected will receive ₱1,000 right away as payment for their participation. In this segment, five "lucky weapons" are given to them, each of which they must use to complete a particular task. For instance, within a set time limit, each competitor must use their selected "lucky weapon" to scoop marbles onto a table. They will be ranked based on how many grams they have scooped. After five rounds, the player with the best performance wins ₱10,000 pesos and advances to the Match-Swerte round.
Five players will be selected at random for Pot Luck. Those selected will receive ₱1,000 right away as payment for their participation. One hundred pots containing questions ranging from the easiest to the hardest are given to them. Every contestant has to choose among 100 bowls and respond to that question. They will be asked the question that is inside their chosen pot, and they will receive one point if their answer is correct, but if they get it wrong, the other players have the opportunity to steal that question. The first player with three points wins the match and is given ₱10,000 pesos. He or she then advances straight to the Match-Swerte round.
In Da Hula Who, five contestants are tasked with guessing the "guest of honor" who has the traits mentioned by the hosts. They are instantly given ₱1,000 right away as payment for their participation. At the game, there are three "guests of honor"; only one has the correct trait. All contestants are required to submit their answers on their respective podiums, and if they are correct, they will move on to the next round; if not, they will be eliminated and will receive ₱1,000. The winning contestant is given ₱10,000 pesos, and he or she then advances straight to the Match-Swerte round.
Five contestants are selected at random and given the task of opening three layers of doors in Knock Knock, Who's Door. The first layer has three doors, the second layer has two doors, and the third and final layer has one door. Every layer of a door has a unique key that opens every door. Time-to-beat elimination is used in this competition; the first player sets the time limit to be beat by the second player, and if that player is not defeated by the next contestant, that player will be the current winner. The contestants who come next will be eliminated if they are unable to finish in the allotted time. The winning contestant is given ₱10,000 pesos, and he or she then advances straight to the Match-Swerte round.
The winner of either Lucky Pick, Pot Luck, Da Hula Who?, or Knock Knock, Who's Door? has the opportunity to take home a specific showcase (such as a kitchen, gadget, or a sari-sari store showcase) in the jackpot round called Match-Swerte.
The contestant must select one of the three items (from the showcase that is displayed and one of the missing items) that they believe will equal the total cost of those items in order to win the stated showcase. As a hint, the showcase's total value is displayed. The unselected items will be opened after selection (based on the selected item's retail price initially, then the combined value of the two [retail price of the selected item + the other showcases' total value]). They will win the showcase if their price matches both the item and the showcase.
